Rachel Ann Daly popularly known as Rachel Daly was born on December 6, 1991. She plays for the Houston Dash in the NWSL and the England National team. She is 29 years old. She was born to Martyn and Louise Daly in Harrogate, England, and has an older brother named Andy.

Rachel Daly- Career

The player grew up playing with Leeds United and in 2007 won the League Cup Championship. Also, she spent time with the Lincoln Ladies before leaving for St. John’s.

After playing for three years for the Red Storm, Daly set up her school career. During her second year, after having been unable to see game action as a result of NCAA compliance regulations as a freshman, she played and started in Al 21 games and set St. John’s single-season records in goals (23) and points (50), thereby becoming the Program’s first-ever player to be named an NSCAA All-American, after earning Second Team honors.

In December 2013, after Hope Powell was replaced by Mark Sampson as England coach, he named Daly in his first squad.

In the 2016 season, she appeared in a total of 16 games and was voted as the Player of the Week for the season by NWSL Media Association after she contributed a goal and an assist in the Dash’s 3-1 win against the Chicago Red Stars. In the cause of her appearances that season, she tallied a total of four goals and four assists.

For the 2017 season, she returned to the Dash, made 23 appearances, and scored 5 goals. On November 20, 2017, it was confirmed by the club that she had signed a new contract with them.

However, Daly was not called up for almost a year until the new head coach Phil Neville included her in the England squad for the 2018 SheBelieves Cup. She was featured in four of England’s World Cup qualifying games in 2018, and England won the cup thereby qualifying for the 2018 World Cup.

She also appeared in two games, one of which she played all 90 minutes in the 2-2 draw against the United States hence winning the 2019 SheBelieves Cup with the England National team.

She played for England at the U-17 Women’s World Cup and in 2016, she earned her first senior cap. She finished her college career at St. John’s.

After adopting the best of skills and putting up a brilliant performance In the 2018 season, Daly was named Player of the Week for the 9th week and also the Player of the Month in the month of May.

For the same season, she was also voted team MVP and was named the 2018 NWSL second XI. On the International level, Daly represented England at the U-15, U-17, U-19, and U-23 levels. In 2008, she was part of England’s U-17 FIFA Women’s Cup team that finished fourth in New Zealand.

In addition to Daly’s natural talent as a Soccer player, her handwork and efforts cannot be overlooked. Her goalscoring ability is not something any player can boast of and has helped her set goals and break ground in her career.

On September 3, 2020, Daly joined the Irons on loan from NWSL team Houston Daly. She went ahead to make Barclays FA Women’s Super League bow in the 1-1 season opener against Tottenham. The loan however expired on January 11, 2021.
